Tackling vaccine denialism for #People's vaccine.
Everything about #COVID19 pandemic is now about behavioural science, where "trust" is a key factor. Strategy on how to influence how communities or individuals process information or advice and build trust in their own setting is now the only scientific (behavioral science) option to manage this virus. I have always argued that we (health personnels) can't continue doing the same thing over and over again, and expect to get a different result. Exploration approach is key here. Especially, in most developing or African nations, where politics that thrives on "schadenfreude" is the order of the day and the trust between communities and government is so fragile or even non existent, depending on your own political/ethnocentric views. It is important to note that vaccine saves life but when the trust is not there, the science behind vaccines become meaningless to the people and when the people develop such opinion, "public health law and biosecurity" becomes a debate and when we get to that level, which is where we are now with #COVID19, the science of saving lives through vaccination becomes impossible. The only practical reality is for every government to think of "exploration approach" as the only strategic way forward to enhance trust. I thank you!
